What is Leadership and Organizational Studies?
A degree in Leadership and Organizational Studies (L&OS) prepares students to be strong leaders in a variety of career fields. With a focus on leadership and communication skills, your L&OS degree will help you build upon your work and educational experience, increase your understanding of the complexities of an organization, and give you the tools to excel as a leader.
Designed Especially for Students with Applied Associate Degrees
UW Oshkosh’s online L&OS degree is designed for students who hold an associate of applied science degree from a technical college. See this list of approved associate degrees that transfer directly to L&OS.
Building upon the technical skills gained through your technical college degree and work experience, the L&OS program focuses on the “soft skills” required to become a more effective leader in a wide variety of industries.
Transfer up to 90 credits
Most L&OS students transfer in about 60 credits, but UW Oshkosh can accept up to 90 credits of previous college-level coursework. A block of up to 45 credits will be awarded to those with an approved technical degree, plus applicable general education courses.
Earn Your Degree in About Two Years
For full time students, the L&OS program can be completed in as little as two years. Depending on your educational background and preferred schedule, it may take more time. One of our advisors will be happy to review your previous coursework and prepare a personalized planner that will help you understand how your associate degree will transfer and what coursework you will need to complete to earn your L&OS degree. Fill out our prospective student form, and an advisor will contact you shortly.
100 Percent Online and Accelerated
The L&OS program is offered completely online! Most courses are delivered in accelerated, 7-week sessions, which offer additional flexibility for students working full time.
Courses are delivered through Desire 2 Learn (D2L). Students interact with their professors and classmates through online discussion, class lectures, and a drop box for assignments. There are no required scheduled meeting times, but there are deadlines and due dates for projects, assignments and discussions.
Affordable and Flexible
Our flat-rate tuition for online undergraduate programs—$360 per credit—makes budgeting for your Leadership and Organizational Studies degree easy. Financial aid is available for students who qualify. We also welcome veterans’ benefits and employer reimbursement. A Supportive Community
